Kiddie Party Ideas Part I: Venue and Host/Magician

Baby C's first birthday is fast approaching!  She will turn 1 in November 2013.  By popular demand, I will start posting our birthday preparations and her party details to share ideas to my friends and readers.

Since we only have 3 months preparation during our wedding in 2011, Hubby and I decided to start early for Baby C's 1st birthday.  We started preparing as early as February  2013 or 9 months before her birthday.  Pretty early huh?  Nah!  Because when we tried to book our first choice venue, it was already taken!  Sigh!

We really want West Greenhills Clubhouse because it can accommodate 250 pax and has high ceilings.  Too bad we won't be celebrating baby's birthday there!  I guess, there was really a baby boom during the year of the dragon.  We should have booked as soon as baby was born!  Then we tried Quezon City Sports Club and we got the same answer, already booked!  We checked at least a dozen more venues but if not booked, they are small for our intended number of guests.  Then a good friend of mine who will be celebrating her son's first birthday party in North Greenhills Clubhouse next month got us a sponsor there, so we settled for North Greenhills Clubhouse.  It is smaller than West Greenhills Clubhouse but they said it can accomodate 200 adults.  The function room is in the second floor, hopefully none of my guests will have an arthritis or rayuma attack on that day.  For more details about North Greehills Clubhouse, click HERE. That's it for the venue!

Now for the Host/Magician.  We also had a hard time booking a host during our wedding so a host/magician is the next on our list!  We got Chayno!  Yehey!  I read a lot of good reviews about him.  I booked him last March even though I haven't seen him perform.  I relied on word-of-mouth marketing.  Then last July, I attended a party where he was the host/magician.  I like his personality, his performance and the flow of the program.  No regrets!  I'm sure the kids will have lots of fun with him.   Here's a photo-op with Chayno:

Baby C likes Chayno.  Look at her smile =)

  7. Hi, did your 200 guests fit perfectly in the venue? My daughter will celebrate her birthday there in 2 weeks and we have around 260 adults and gasp--90kids total. That is excluding yayas and suppliers present. I am worried we all would not fit in the venue. Also, madilim ba?

  8. Hi iloveaimeep! I had a full house during Baby C's birthday. Good thing we put 26 round tables (10 pax) and kiddie tables for 30 kids. Sakto lang sa venue. We can still move around. And medyo madilim nga but ok pa rin naman ang photo and video.
