Product Review: Define your Curls with Monea!

Who's curly?  Meeee! and I am loving it!

Last September, after suffering from post-partum hair loss, I had my hair digitally permed at Tony and Jackey Salon 168 Shopping Mall Branch.  Read about my it HERE. After the falling hair episode, my hair became very unruly and I have lots of tutchang.  Everyday is BAD HAIR DAY that I have to do something about it!

After the perming session, the hair dresser offered for sale 2 bottles of hair products to maintain my curls which I politely declined.  I can't remember the exact price but more or less P2000 for the 2 bottles good to last for more than a month.  I know.. so mahal!

Tony and Jackey Salon (168 Branch) is currently having a promo and some officemates had their hair permed also.  They were asking me what I used to maintain my curls.  My answer? Monea Curl Defining Milk Lotion.

200 ml

Milky hair lotion

Monea Curl Defining Milk Lotion only costs P99.00 and available in SM Department Stores, Watsons and Landmark.  I have been using this product even before when I had my first digital perm in 2010.  My first digital perm lasted for 2 years.  I stopped using Monea when I got pregnant in 2012 because they changed the scent and I can't tolerate it. The scent is now fine with me but I still wish they will bring back the original scent.

I used to buy expensive perm products until I tried Monea.  Thanks to my bestfriend, Sherry, for introducing to me this product way back 2010.

This is what Monea claims.

Intensify your curls and define your waves!

Curl Defining Milk is especially formulated with Polyvinylpyrrolidone to help form and accentuate curls. It provides natural control with a touchable feel, creating frizz-free, shiny and moisturized curls without stiffness. It gives awesome definition and bounce to curly or wavy hair. With almond milk that leaves hair silky smooth and manageable; with lanolin oil that prevents hair from environmental or everyday styling damages, without stiffness or stickiness.

Direction for use.

Apply to damp or wet hair from roots to ends and scrunch to shape curls.  Concentrate on lengths and ends to prevent frizzing.  Apply lightly and evenly for more control and definition.  Use wide-tooth comb or fingers to dry.  Do ot use a blow dryer.

What I like about Monea?

1.  Eventhough it only costs P99.00, the product delivers.  It is true to its claims!  I love how my curls look after applying it.
2.  Compared to mouse, I think Monea is much gentler to my hair since this is a milk lotion.
3.  A peso size lotion for my hair holds my curls the whole day.
4.  A bottle lasts for 1 1/2 to 2 months.
5.  Doesn't give my hair a heavy look.
6.  Easy to use, just apply on wet or damp hair, scrunch hair to shape the curls and you're good to go! Who says curly hair is high maintenance?

What I don't like about Monea?

1.  The bottle.  It is hard to control the flow of the lotion and if you have already used about 3/4 of the content, you have to taktak the bottle and scrape the lotion.
2.  Leaves hands greasy after use.

This is my curls during Baby C's first birthday party.  Some guests thought I went to the salon for my hair and make-up.

From everyday bad hair day to everyday salon-styled hair.

My verdict.

Monea Curl Defining Milk Lotion is definitely recommended for use by those with curly, wavy or permed hair.

    1. Hi. It may lessen yung pagiging buhaghag because of the effect of the lotion, but I think Monea is specially made for curly hair.
