It is summer time again and parents are on the look out for interesting summer classes for their kids. I was never enrolled in any summer classes when I was a child. Summer vacation for me means helping out with our family business or going to the province to visit my aunt and cousins. I sometimes envy my classmates taking up swimming, voice lessons or baking sessions. Be that as it may, I do not regret working during summer because it taught me how to be hardworking and gave me a sense of accomplishment as a child thinking that I was a part of our business.
Back to summer classes, Hobbes and Landes and the Art School for Kids bring you a unique summer workshop for your kids. It is called "Art Lab". This is a workshop that will use art techniques and art materials to make science experiments with an art work as the end result.
The materials that will be used in the activities are basic art materials such as canvass, different type of art papers, crayons, clay, paint and glitters. Making a wearable science and art tie-dye shirt, how to make paper from recycled materials, creating a tornado using home made tools, how to make a clay, how to make a glow in the dark slime, make your own kaleidoscope using homemade materials are some of scheduled activities of the workshop that kids will surely enjoy.
Per class is limited only to 12 students. This small number will ensure the moderators, who are art course graduates of UP Diliman, that each students will get proper attention and guidance on all activities.
The workshop has a total of ten (10) sessions with two (2) hours per session from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm and held every Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.
